Main tasks

Mission

The position is available within the Experimental Radiotherapy Platform, led by Frédéric Pouzoulet.

The mission of the Experimental Radiotherapy Platform is to provide users with various types of ionizing radiation sources for treating both cells and animals.

This position is open as part of new activities in microPET/CT imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. PET (Positron Emission Tomography) is a non-invasive functional imaging technique requiring the injection of a positron-emitting radioactive tracer. The installed equipment is coupled with a CT scanner for anatomical imaging.

The development of these activities will be carried out in collaboration with the Laboratory of Translational Imaging in Oncology, led by Irène Buvat.

In this context, the main duties of the engineer will include:

  • Participating in the management of imaging equipment on the platform, including quality control and usage.

  • Participating in the management of radiation protection for both sealed and unsealed sources, handling activities in hot zones and the use of sealed sources.

Detailed Missions Under the authority of the Platform Manager, the engineer will be responsible for:

  • Conducting imaging acquisitions (microPET/ microCT);

  • Monitoring radiation protection;

  • Organizing orders and transport of unsealed radioactive sources ;

  • Assisting in the implementation and execution of quality controls for the imaging systems on the platform;

  • Participating in imaging acquisitions and/or protocol setup for multimodal imaging;

  • Developing technological enhancements for the imaging systems' usage;

  • Analyzing and presenting measurement results to produce experiment reports and technical notes;

  • Developing consulting and training activities for users and scientific partners;

  • Staying updated on technical advances and implementing them within the platform;

  • Overseeing maintenance, operational monitoring, training, and management of the platform's equipment;
