Laboratory
The Stem Cell and Tissue Homeostasis lab, headed by Dr. Allison Bardin, is within the Department of Genetics and Developmental Biology (UMR 3215/ U934) of the Institut Curie. Our ongoing studies us Drosophila melanogaster to understand how tissues dynamically renew by stem and progenitor cells.
We are seeking an “Ingénieur d’Etude” to help with ongoing experiments in genetics and imaging as well as in molecular biology. More information about us can be found here: https://institut-curie.org/team/bardin .
Missions
Description of the activities
Mission 1 :
- Genetic crosses and selection of Drosophila lines.
- Immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy of tissues.
- Quantification of data.
Mission 2 :
- Preparation of RNA and DNA for deep sequencing.
- Establishment of ATACseq on FACS sorted stem cells.
- General molecular biology techniques : PCR, DNA extraction, etc…
Mission 3:
Help with lab management tasks (ordering, orgazation, planning)
Profil du candidat
Savoirs et compétences attendus
Experience level / degrees required
- Masters 2 or PhD
Skills and qualities required
- Work experience with expertise with Drosophila genetics is necessary
- Experience in additional molecular biology such as genomic library prep or ATACseq is a plus.
- Good English allowing you to communicate orally your colleagues and managers and write.
- Ability to understand scientific articles in the field and follow presentations in English.
- Excellent organization and teamwork skills.
Contract information
Type of contract: Fixed-term contract
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 18 months
Working time: full time - number of days – 39 hours per week
Gross annual salary : from 30396€ to 36219€ according to the current grids
Benefits: Collective catering, reimbursement of transportation fees up to 70%, supplementary health insurance
