Teaching mission

Département Master Sciences des Organisations (MSO)

The candidate will teach in the Peace Studies major of the Master 1 International Affairs and Development, and the Master 2 Peace Studies, which are designed to train students in the careers offered by international organizations involved in conflict and crisis resolution, by NGOs and by public and private institutes for the management of social conflicts.

The teaching service includes courses in Sociology of Conflict I (18h, M1), Sociology of Conflict II (18h, M1), Practicing Peace (9h, M1), as well as the animation of the general seminar (12h, M1/M2) and two opening courses for International Affairs, in English language (36h each).

In addition to this teaching load, he also co-directs the Peace Studies Master (M1, M2) and supervises projects developed by the students of the Peace Studies Association of Dauphine: review and newsletter of the Master, projects to support populations in distress (migrants/refugees).

Finally, the candidate will participate in the supervision of dissertations or internship reports (M2) and in annual recruitment campaigns for students applying to enter M1 and M2.

Number of hours (HTD): 192

Teaching team: The team is composed of teacher-researchers and researchers attached to the different laboratories of the University (LAMSADE, IRISSO, LEDA). It brings together politicians, sociologists, economists and computer scientists.

Research mission

IRISSO

The candidate will join IRISSO, a UMR associating politicians, sociologists and economists. The laboratory conducts research in the field of political sociology of economic worlds, public action, politicization and political behaviour. The candidate will be called upon to join the "Politicization and Mobilization" axes. Comparative approaches" and "Government, norms and knowledge" of the laboratory to pursue research in peace studies with an international dimension.

The candidate will have research activities, which he or she will carry out within the framework of one of the themes carried by IRISSO. This research will be based on a series of annual fieldwork and will result in regular publications. The candidate will have to demonstrate a good mastery of foreign and difficult terrain, in accordance with the skills expected of a co-director of a Master's degree in peace studies.

He or she will contribute to establish an interdisciplinary research program based on the 3 research centers (LAMSADE, IRISSO, LEDA) whose work and members contribute to the Master in Peace Studies.

IRISSO is a Joint Research Unit of the CNRS, associated with the University Paris-Dauphine/PSL which brings together sociologists, politicians and economists. IRISSO's central research focus is on public and private regulations, their articulation and transformations. IRISSO's work focuses on the sociology of economic worlds and the analysis of public action.

Description of complementary activities: The candidate will be invited to join the management team of the Master. He/she will develop the agreements established with the international partners of the Master of Peace Studies and will work towards its continuous internalisation.

 

Skills

Perfect proficiency in French and English.

The candidate will have to demonstrate an ability to conduct cooperative and advisory interactions with state institutions as well as with the world of NGOs and associations.

Experience in the management of diplomas would be appreciated.
